Recently refurbished, we have retained the simple elegance of the look of retro terracotta and white tiles around the 12 x 6m pool, with its graduating steps to slide into the turquoise water. Nestled by dry stone walls flanked with olive trees and terracotta pots, this sun trap area also has shady places under the shelter of oak trees. Magnificent views of the Chianti hills stretch out beyond
Set in 2 acres of a completely private, gated estate, the grounds include a wooded area for quiet walks and reading, olive groves to relax in, and Tuscan garden areas with vines, irises and roses. The ancient arched loggias are where we eat and socialise and the restored limonea with its wine press provides a fabulous lounge with a wall of bi-fold glass doors overlooking Chianti hills with vineyards, olive groves and a castle or two
Our fresh water is from a newly sunk 110m well ,with the latest water purification and pumping system. Rainwater and grey water are captured and tunnelled underground to biological reprocessing for watering the gardens. We generate electricity through solar powered photovoltaic panels that is stored in batteries for maximum efficiency
Most guests fly into Italy and we pick you up from Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence. But you’re welcome to drive and park your car within the gated grounds if you notify us when you book. We can even accommodate a small motorhome
Our hamlet is on a white road or strada bianca, one of the many ancient and protected roads that criss-cross the Chianti hills. We are 280m above the village of Greti which is just outside the medieval town of Greve in Chianti. Continue walking up the hill to enjoy the most magnificent views across the valleys and hills, with the Appennini mountains in the distance. Nearby are Montefioralle, Castellina in Chianti, Panzano and Radda, all of which are medieval towns and villages steeped in the history of wine and olive oil making. Our entrance is located at PUFF THINKING FIGS on What3words.
